Sakes alive, I have been trying to sit down and post Day 21 for almost a week now! I have been dying to share my results with you! So here we go...
She proved me wrong that Autumn, she really did. I admit I was skeptical when I first started the 21 day fix, but I was eager to give this the full 21 days and see what all the fuss was really about. You cannot really test the true credibility of a fitness plan if you don't put in 100% effort, wouldn't you agree? Y'all...THIS program works...IF you stick with it and don't CHEAT! And what does Autumn say, "Don't cheat. You're only cheating yourself. Yes?" This does NOT mean you cannot have a treat, or that you have to quit drinking coffee or stop eating carbs. But it means you have to be WILLING to...GIVE IT YOUR ALL! Yes, you will be eating fewer calories than you are used to. If you dine out alot you will likely be eating even fewer calories than you are used to, but you will not STARVE. You are just going to eat DIFFERENT foods is all! I am going to go out on a really big limb here and I mean HUGE because I am very self conscious about my body, but I want you to see that this works! And the only way to do that is to show you. I'm such a visual person myself. So here goes...my before and after pictures. Forgive my awful photography and horrible lighting. I am not a photographer and won't claim to have any talent in that department! I had no one to take my after picture so I succumbed to the dreaded selfie. God, I hate selfies. I do not understand the point. But this is one selfie I worked my @ss off for! I still have a long ways to go. You will not get the body you have always wanted in 3 weeks. Autumn really should not say that on her videos because that is false advertising. Bless her heart though, she means well :) She really wants people to succeed! First, here are my stats:
Starting weight (5/1): 119 / Ending weight (6/1): 112
Inches lost: 2.5" from my waist, 1.5" from my hips, 1/2" from each thigh / Gained 1/4" in each bicep (beast mode, lol)
Ok, deep breath...stepping out on limb now...

And for my next challenge, I am starting P90X3 next week! AND...drumroll...the hubby has committed to doing it with me!! See, being healthy really does rub off! I am SO excited about this because it is only a 30 minute workout a day and this is perfect for me! There are modifications for every move and I am sure I will use them! At first. I am a firm believe that daily 30 minute workouts really is the way to go! I have worked out every day for the last 24 days (minus the day I got sick) because if I am honest - if we are ALL honest - I DO have 30 minutes to spare at some point in my day! 30 minutes folks. That is a mere 2% of our day. If that means you have to get up earlier, do it! If that means you have to put the kids in the playpen with some toys and teach them to entertain themselves for 1/2 hour. DO IT! If that means one spouse puts the kiddo(s) in the stroller and goes for a walk while you do your 30 minute workout. DO IT! For me, it meant making a concentrated effort to leave work on time so I could get home at a reasonable hour and when I got home I would say "I love ya, but mom needs 30 minutes!" DO IT!
We are all at different stages in our lives, we all have different things going on, but we all should make time to exercise and eat healthy! Seriously, few people have died from paying better attention to their health, right? This is not meant to make anyone feel guilty - please! Know my heart here! I just constantly hear people complaining about their bodies, their health, their lack of energy, their muffin top, and that they are sick and tired of being sick and tired, but they aren't doing a thing about it! Hell, I WAS ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE!! But eventually it clicked in my head...I HAD to stop feeling sorry for myself and change what I didn't like. I just want to encourage anyone on the edge to take a step out on that limb! Get out of your own way! Stop telling yourself, "I'll start next month" because next month turns into next year. Be the person you were too lazy to be yesterday! Stop saying "I wish" and start saying "I will!" GET HEALTHY. Don't wait! Tomorrow isn't promised!
